So, for you this is not a scam?

40$ in store = nothing
40$ in online store = BPM

It really look like a scam, or at least an attempt to fight with retailers and lose their support.

When NF came out I bought it at best buy and got a free t-shirt, online didn't have that promotion. is it a scam that anyone that bought the game anywhere other then best buy didn't get a t-shirt? no, it's not. YOU knew that if you spent $30 online (it didn't even have to be GWEN) you would get the BMP. Did you spend $30 online? obviously not. If that's a scam, (keep in mind we knew about this promo for MONTHS) then you scammed yourself.

Had some nublet IN MY GUILD start asking other guildies while clearing FoW if anyone has any really expensive stuff, like "panadas" and whatnot. Thought it was just simple conversation no big deal stuff like that...just a kid who wants to see some really rich person's toys. About 5 minutes later he starts talking about his old guild leader having like 3 "panadas" and a whole set of tormented weapons, blah blah blah. Some people made the requisite "ebay" comments, myself included...this prompted him to say he probably duped stuff. Started talking about duping items, using unyielding aura, whatnot...I caught on right there and said "look dude, don't even try it." He immediately went on the defensive, said he'd never try to scam anyone. Insta-confession because noone even mentioned the word scam until then. He went silent for about 20 minutes then says "gtg guys bro got home"...we thought he was going to leave the group...instead we get "hey guys my lil bro was just playing, I just got home from soccer"...

We were sitting there quizzing him for about 15 minutes about why his bro was talking about duping and stuff, where he went, what he ate for dinner because he had to leave right away etc...then he started in on other junk so the other guild officers/leader and I started going back and forth in whisper about booting this kid...who wants to be the one to do it. We did a /roll 100 right then and there, and kicked him mid-mission. Dumbass didn't even realize it until we finally told him. We all put guild capes on, started talking about new members, junk like that...and he kept going off about his other junk. Finally, we said "everyone! guild screenie, get your capes on!" He says his is supposed to be on all the time...wtf not? Another guildie says "maybe it's a glitch?" I come back with "Yeah, i know that Glitch...seems pretty frequently people without a guild don't display capes."

Dumbass kid STILL didn't get it! It was only when he started badmouthing the guild leader who was making wisecracks about him in the forge said that the reason he's not in the guild anymore was because he's disrespectful did he figure it out. Numbnuts little child. Surprisingly, he didn't leave...stayed until we finished.

I only got scammed once *touches wood*

I needed a gate opener in pre-searing. Warrior parties up with me, opens the gate, I pay him his 50g. He then quickly runs back through the portal, and logs off, leaving me standing in front of a closed gate. Pretty pathetic scam.

Hm, I don't think this guy was a scammer, but just extremely confused.

My boyfriend (I guess he steps in virtual doo-doo and attracts peculiar people like flies), was trying to buy a couple of Monk Tomes for me whilst I went for a snooze, and one guy offered.

First, he offered an Elite Monk Tome. Fair enough, mistake on his part? My bf asks again for two Monk Tomes, and the seller restarts the trade.

He offers the Elite Monk Tome again.

Then 45 Necromancer Tomes. Then 75 Assassin Tomes. 10 Elementalist Tomes.

At this point, my poor 'other half' was squirming in his seat, almost pulling his hair out in frustration, and asked again: 'Do - You - Have - Two - NORMAL - Monk - Tomes?'

The seller dumped everything into trade, along with two regular Monk Tomes.

Finally, the seller offered him the Monk Tomes.

Anyone run into weirdos like this? Thank God I wasn't handling the situation, although I admit I was in hysterics watching him freak out. It was like, a 5+ minute trade.

maybe one of those guys who stays only in PS, tried actual play for a while and found it way too hard
So he decided to stay in PS where his epeen is obviously longer (and 50g is a lot in there, if you ignore post items ofc)

or it's just the obnoxious thingy, nothing more

I will stop here because I am off-topic (even when I still think I deserve the bonus too)

Now ON-TOPIC: Someone tried to sell me an identification kit double price as in merchant some steps from me. That was when I was new to game and with Prophecies only with low level everything was expensive.

The best "Facepalm" scam I have seen is some guy trying to convince people in town that every time they have lag is due to the fact that Anet is uploading a secret update. >_>

and it was free with purchase.

Me: How did you read what I said?
(short pause)
Him: I hav friend who read 2 me
(This was getting good, I couldn't pass this up)
Me: Well do you think you can offer the 90k?
Him: no lol thats 2 much
Me: You respond pretty fast for someone who is being read to
Him: lol i not rly blind, my frnd just left
Him: he think 90k is 2 much, want me to scam u
Him: so i make him go away so now i cn pay
Me: Ok
Him: w8 my dad just called brb
(short pause as he plans his next coarse of action)
Him: i go 2 storage brb dont move i get gold
He offers 9k
Me: Thats 9k not 90k
Him: no lol its 90k
Me: Is it?
Him: yes lol atleast on mine screen
Me: Your screen
Him: ya dad says the computer is screwd up amd shows lower numbers but it will rly be 90k after trade

Him: i got get him
Him: This Is Dans Father
Him: I Am A Computer Technician
Him: Yes This Computer Has A Problem With Numbers
Him: Just Except Trade It Will Work
......
Him: It Has A Numeric Malfunctionary Disability ----(I didn't remember his exact words, but he was making stuff up)
Me: My computer has a problem, I can't press the Accept button unless there is atleast 90k in the trade
Him: wut

Him: ok i give u 40k no mor

Ok, here are the pathetic scams I've almost had done to me and a friend. So:

My Friends Scamming experiences: My friend had been in a group with one guy, and he had his Kungavang out. (This is when minipets were really expensive.) They had finished there mission or whatever and everything is fine. A few days later:

(pm)Guy:Hey, remember me?
Friend:Yeah.
Guy:I want to buy that dragon, I will pay 10k.
Friend: No way, thats a horrible deal.
Guy: No its not.
Friend: Yeah it is.
Guy: Well, Oh Ya? I was on Guild Wars Guru Auction Board and some people were selling some for 10k.
Friend: I am still not trading, besides it would go to my friend first.(Me)
I dont know what happened to him, but you get the idea.

My Scamming experiences:
So I am recruiting for my guild, and this guy asks to join. I ask recruits questions first and he said he he sold a couple guilds of his. So, I am like whatever, he can join. So In our guild hall the topic minipets comes up, and he asked to show him my collection. So I brought out my Kungavaan, he gets all excited. He asks me to have it for a minute, because he will give it right back. I say no. So I go one and he does the same things with troll, rurik, varesh, titan and so on. I say no to all of them. (He is still promising to give them back.) I offer him a whiptail, he says no and he whines becuase he wants my "dragon" (kungavaang). I said I had to go. went, told that friend that I told about earlier, told him I thaught he was scamming, he told me to kick him out, so a minute later when I try to, he left the guild. This happened months ago though. The other day, however, I tried adding the guy to my friends list to "Talk" to him, he had deleted that character. Wimp

the closest thing to a scam ive done is someone offered to run a NF mission(forgot which one) so i agree to pay him 2k for it. So he gets a full party together , and we start doing the mission normal, he's not running nor soloing. After the mission I told him we did the same amount of work you did and gave him 100g for pity.
